| Lord teach us once again to pray For words we cannot find We search for fitting things to say That will not come to mind Thy will is needed here on earth To right the wrongs of man For things that have eternal worth Seem not to fit his plan Since kingdoms now sound obsolete His ear hears other tunes While feet dance to a diff´rent beat Salome softly croons Prophetic voice will soon be stilled In prison put to death Unless our hearts with worship filled Break forth with Heaven´s breath For up on high they never cease Thrice Holy God to praise Eternally with full release His Worthy Name they raise If only three would watch and wait Three hours shift by shift A mere one hundred sixty-eight Could weekly worship lift When Moses sat with hands held high By men on either side ´Til sinking sun had left the sky They stemmed the evil tide As is in Heaven so below In vigils without end Our worship now in ceaseless flow Should timelessly ascend |
